Organic Care of California BLOG

Here is a few Blogs written by the owners Chaz & Shantel Cornellier about the industry and things they have experienced or learned while owning a cannabis delivery service in Chico, Ca in 2017 under Prop 215 and then moving to Sacramento to own a State Liscensed Delivery, C9-0000003-LIC, immediately in 2018. It has been a crazy ride and Chaz loves to explain what the market is doing and how he sees the company doing in the near future.

Dosilato: A High-Comedy of Hybrid Origins

Good day, buds and bud-ettes! If you're here, you're probably wondering about Dosilato, the strain that's been sparking up the cannabis community like a rogue lighter in a hay barn. Now, sit back, or lay back (no judgment here, we're all friends), as we unwrap the hysterical history of this dank drama queen of the cannabis world. Hold onto your bongs; this is going to be a wild ride!

In the beginning, there was Do-Si-Dos and Gelato. Like Romeo and Juliet of the cannabis strains, both came from backgrounds that could make a tomato blush. Do-Si-Dos, a hypnotic dance of OG Kush Breath and Face Off OG, is like that brooding, mysterious character in every teen movie who's deep, introspective, and has an inexplicable love for angsty poetry. Then there’s Gelato, born from Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, as sweet and chilled as that person everyone likes, who somehow balances an Instagram-worthy social life with a series of inexplicably successful 'side hustles.'

So, what happens when you put broody Do-Si-Dos in a room with sweet, sociable Gelato? You get Dosilato, the strain equivalent of a rom-com lead, who’s as complex as they are charismatic, and as likely to make you contemplate your life choices as they are to compel you to eat all the snacks in your house.

But, let’s rewind to where it all began - the sacred grounds of the cannabis cultivators, a place filled with more tension and expectation than a family dinner at the in-laws after a Vegas elopement. Picture this: a group of mad-green-thumbs-genius breeders decided they wanted to create something as powerful as a superhero but less likely to wear spandex. They eyed the potential in their crop circles (not those crop circles, stay with me here) and decided to play matchmaker with the sexiest strains on the block.

The criteria? A cannabis strain that could kick stress and pain out the door without so much as a "goodbye" note, while simultaneously embracing users in a bear hug that whispers, "Everything's going to be okay, buddy." The kind of strain that could inspire philosophical debates about the cultural significance of the pizza toppings or the existential crisis of left socks disappearing in the laundry.

As the breeders eyed their options, they knew they needed the robust genetics of strains that had already won high school superlatives for "Most Likely to Succeed" in making people's day better. Enter our protagonists, Do-Si-Dos and Gelato.

During the initial ‘mix-and-mingle’, Do-Si-Dos and Gelato didn’t quite hit it off. Imagine two people eyeing each other from across a crowded room, one brooding with a drink in hand, the other laughing with a crowd but looking for more. It took some work, some failed attempts that we won't detail (because what happens in the grow room stays in the grow room), and probably some Barry White music in the background. Finally, though, sparks flew, and the room was heavy with the aroma of success and terpenes. Nine weeks later, their love child, Dosilato, came into existence, crying tears of resinous joy.

Oh, what a strain Dosilato turned out to be! The kind of hybrid that made Indica and Sativa call a truce in their millennia-long arm-wrestle. With a THC content just as high as its parents' expectations, Dosilato hit the cannabis community like a ton of bricks made of pure cosmic insight. The breeders knew they had something special, something that made people say profound things like, "Dude, what was I just saying?" and "Hello, Pizza? Do you do deliveries to the couch? I'm sort of anchored here."

However, with great strains come great responsibilities. The breeders had to give Dosilato a crash course in being awesome. They weren’t just dealing with a regular cannabis strain here; they were shaping a social phenom, a Mona Lisa of the weed world, if you will. Dosilato had to be smooth but potent, like a fine whiskey or the glares you exchange with your cat when it judges your life choices.

The breeders coached it on its flavor profile, with Dosilato taking notes from its parent strains. "Be sweet and earthy, with a hint of floral, my child," Gelato said. "But don't forget to add a punch of diesel. It's important to remind them of your power," Do-Si-Dos added, probably while doing push-ups or writing in a moleskin notebook.

Dosilato was a quick learner, a natural. It brought the cerebral elevation and full-body relaxation that made philosophers out of laymen and couch potatoes out of overachievers. It wasn't just a strain; it was an experience, a journey, a personal quest inside a nug.

And now, dear 420-friendly readers, you know the tale of Dosilato, the strain born out of love, high expectations, and probably an excessive amount of agricultural matchmaking. It stands (or rather, sways) as a testament to what happens when you let opposites attract in a very controlled, very aromatic environment.

As we part ways, remember the story of Dosilato, whether you're lighting up a tribute to its excellence or simply appreciating the art of botanical romance. In a world where we're all just looking for some good vibes and better company, it's strains like Dosilato that remind us that sometimes, the best company we can have is a hybrid strain with a heart of green gold.

Keep toking, my friends, and may your thoughts be as profound as the origins of Dosilato!
